Mario Pezzana

Mario Pezzana (1942-1999) is the "father" of crystallization theory.

See here for a memory, by his first pupils Carlo Gagliardi and Massimo Ferri, written in 2001 for a volume dedicated to him by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

It contains also a list of Pezzana's papers, together with those on crystallization theory (till to 2001) by his students - of first or second generation -, and also by researchers from different parts of the world, who have derived their studies from that of Pezzana's school or have somehow merged with it.
